Help Tejanath complete a SWOT analysis

Step:
1

For our project to move forward, we need to first define what resources and barriers exist in order to appropriately plan a way forward.

Tejanath has been working on an initial SWOT analysis for the project and will post it here as a place to start. Please review the proposed project and background information in our village and help us list items to complete the SWOT analysis.

Tejanath-please post it here to Nabuur so we can all assist you. If you have trouble, send it to me and I will do it.

Hi everyone-

I was able to meet with Fred again today as well as 14 members of the Kagulu community. We talked a little bit about health awareness campaigns for Malaria and HIV/AIDS. The community believes that Malaria is their biggest health concern at this time due to it being rainy season.

They have received the information that I sent them about strategic planning/business planning. There was a problem with electricity so they were not able to print it and take it back to the local community. I offered to summarize and send it in an email message instead.

Hi Barry-

Thanks so much for your post. I do agree with you about the SWOT analysis. I feel that is a missing link as well.

In terms of comparison with the competition, I'm not sure that we are necessarily after developing a product like a "tourism company", but rather drawing tourists to the region...at least I think. I will have to defer to Tejanath on that, but that is my understanding so far. I think it is a point that we definitely need to clarify. I suppose though even at that we would still need to define what it is that the district has to offer that other areas do not.

Hi everybody,

Here is a very basic questionnaire outline for the SWOT analysis. We will have the best, most accurate results if we listen to the local community's answers to these or similar questions. Please elaborate, correct, delete :). I read a book about Sudan and the author mentioned cattle camps where “young boys went to learn to care for the livestock, beginning with goats and graduating to cattle”. Does similar concept exist in DR of Congo?
