Posts about chat

Hi everyone-

I wanted to let you know that Christopher and I were able to meet this morning online and chat about proposed tasks/steps for the Masaka village. I felt we had a very good and productive chat. He provided me with a lot of information and details about Notre Dame High School and the issues/challenges of the local community. We also came up with what we feel will be several feasible tasks for Nabuur volunteers to work on.

I heard from Fred today. He said that there were heavy rains on Sunday that knocked out the power, so that is why he was unable to meet for chat. We will keep trying. Please feel free to share your thoughts about how to improve access to health care in the local area in the task above-your discussion is important to help us better define tasks.

Kind regards-

Jennifer

Hello-

I just wanted to let everyone know that I did not see Fred online today as planned. He mentioned to me in email earlier in the week that they have to travel some distance to get to the Internet Cafe, that it is expensive and that there is not always a computer available when they get there. It is very possible that was the case today. We will keep trying to connect. This will be a difficult barrier in terms of project management, but we'll keep working at it and see if we can find a way to make it work. I will update again as I know more.

Hi there,

Three comments on the chat in Koliyonkulam:
-participants show with their logon IDs, not the screen names- the website is complicated enough, I don't need to keep a decipher key to figure out the people in the chat
-there is no easy way to get out of the chat ( the tabs on the top did not work and the screen froze twice , the only way to get out was to relaunch the browser)
-there is no easy way to invite neighbors ( at least on my screen) to participate in the chat

Hi there,

I set up the Kolionkulam's chat about 10 days ago and now I can not find it. Any recos where to look for it?

Tejanath the LR from the Khandbari village and I tried to test out the chat feature in the village tonight. We could both get into the room, but neither of us could see what the other was typing. Once we were in the room, we couldn't exit it.

Is there a way in the chatroom to show who is logged into it?

Jennifer
